Heaps of shops have discount cards and loyalty programs which are worth signing up for, so I’ve listed those I know of here. Most include special offers and rewards via email, invitations to sales before they are open to the public and so forth. I haven’t included any that you need to pay to sign up for, because basically I think thats a rort - why should I pay to spend money somewhere? But those you need to make a purchase to join, I’ve tried to make this clear. Just remember to keep your cards in your wallet (a friend of mine has a special wallet just for discount cards) because they certainly come in handy…

Amcal Chemists Club - points program (with a generous 5 points per $1 spent) which can then be redeemed against purchases
ABC Shop - purchase required but points can be earned for instore and online purchases
Aqua Shop - one for the serious swimmers, join the VIP club for 10% discount
AllyX - Sign up for 10% off purchases instore (VIC, NSW &QLD)

Borders Books - sign up for the email newsletter to get a 20% off voucher. Apparantly you can use them multiple times - one per day until the expiry date
Build-a-Bear Stuff Fur Club - when you reach $100 worth of points you get a $10 voucher. I’m a sucker for cute little bear outfits for my bear trevor.
Baskin & Robbins - pick up a card instore to receive a free scoop with every 5th purchase
BeMe/Rockmans - sign up for VIP membership and get a 5% rebate of your entire seasons spend
BB’s Cafe - sign up to the loyalty program for a free coffee
Beauty Grace Loyalty Program - Sydney based salon with points program (Sydney Only)
Birkenstock Store VIP Club - earn points to redeem vouchers
Bevilles Jewellers Eternity Club - must make a purchase to join but then you accrue points which can be used towards future purchases

Country Road Loyalty Program - This program is pretty popular, although I’ve got a card but have never used it, but hey, one day I might want something from Country Road
Clinique - couldn’t find a link online for this one, but Clinque do have a card for each Clinqiue stand and when you spend a certain amount you get a discount. Haven’t used mine for ages, but ask about their loyalty program instore.
Cinebuzz - Discount Club for Birch & Carroll and Greater Union Movies
Connex Plus Card - has different discounts for different stores around melbourne, changes monthly. (Melbourne Only)
Colonnade - sign up for the style card for heaps of discounts (Perth Only)
Chifley Plaza VIP Member - okay so I’m not sure what you get with this since I don’t live in Sydney but it could be worthwhile! (Sydney Only)
Chemworld - sign up instore for discount vouchers and points
Capers Bookstore - $10 to join, gain points to redeem on future purchases.

FlyBuys - I’ve got to be honest, I don’t use FlyBuys. I lost my card and its too hard to get another. Good program but only if you don’t change your shopping patterns to get points.

Globalize Club - different levels of membership, but they have keds and I always love a discount on keds (although I think a podatrists discount should come with the shoes)
Gloria Jeans - Head instore to pick a card - Buy 10, get free regular drink, buy 20, get free 125g coffee or regular drink
Goldmark G Club - need to make a purchase to join, see instore for more details
Gameswizards - must make a purchase to join, collect points of purchases and get pre-release access
Guardian Pharmacy - free to join, earn points with purchases
Golden Glow - online natural health store, join the VIP program for free shipping

House of Fraser - I think you need to join instore but current offers include flashing your card for 5% off all stock
Harbourtown - okay, so you have to pay $2 but the list of discounts is huge! (Gold Coast Only)
H20 Plus - sign up for 15% off on your birthday
Hoyts Movie Club - very similiar to the village one, with a discounted movie and candy bar vouchers
Holy Sheet! - earn points and they send you a voucher every six months or so

Jeans West A-List - you need to spend $150 instore to join but it seems well worth it for 10% off full priced items and 5% off sale items for all future purchases.

Kinetic Blue Loyalty Program - online store for Men’s grooming products, you join after your first purchase and receive a 5% rebate on your purchases every three months
Kookai - not quite a loyalty program, but a nifty discount at least. If you are a student, just flash your student card for 10% off all full priced merchandise

Lenards Chicken - Pick up a bonus card instore and receive points every time you spend over $18
L’oreal Beauty Club - Occasional good discounts. I got a wishlist voucher when signed up
Lincraft - sign up to earn points to redeam instore

Myer One Program - For ages I thought this was a store credit card and completely ignored it but its actually a loyalty program and when you accrue 2000 points they start sending you vouchers. Check out the website as the sale of Myer probably means changes to the loyalty program.

Melbourne Central Student Card - A lot of the retailers don’t seem to know what the discount is, so I suggest printing the discount page and taking it with you. You need to be a full time student to get access to this program, but it has some great discounts.
Mathers VIP Club - Not sure what you get with this one, probably the usual newsletters and pre-sale invites
Metro Miles - Sydney light rail service VIP club (Sydney Only)

Ninewest Style 9 Club - Not sure about this one as I just signed up but says you get invitiations to members only sales
Novo Shoes Club - Worth signing up for as they send around all the offers regularly via email

Portmans E-Port Member - The annoying thing about this program is you have to pick up your card instore, however it does come with a 15% of voucher so I guess that makes it worthwhile!
Priceline - Rewards Program for money spent in priceline. They send you vouchers and special offers
Pretzel World Pretzel Club - grab a card instore and your 8th pretzel is free.
Perfume Connection VIP Club - receive a $5 voucher when you sign up
Prince of Wales Pub VIP Membership - sign up for 10% off pub meals and bar prices and 5% off at the bottle shop (Richmond, Victoria)
Petra Haircare - Can't remember exactly but after X amount of purchases you get credit

Reading Cinema’s Reel Club - Cinema club for cheap tickets and discounts
Rockmans VIP Club - get 5% of what you have spent back each quarter

Scooter Shoes - I got a 25% off voucher when signing up however not sure if thats still going. Past offers have included things like 10% off first pair, 20% off second pair.
Seduce Black - I used this recently for the first time and received 10% off my first purchase just for mentioning I was a member.
Spotlight VIP Membership - a really useful on VIPs get extra discounts sent out and the catalogue mailed out to you, plus 10% off patterns everyday.
Subway - an oldie but goodie. Get stamps when you buy subs, stick them on your card (picked up instore) and get a free sub!
Sussans - the lack of information on the website leads me to believe this a pay to join one, but I’ll check it out instore and report back
Sunglasses Hut - Sign up and receive a $50 voucher
Spencer & Rutherford VIP Club - Love the bags, so I signed up for this one, occasional discounts
SK-II - Loyalty program with tiers of discounts.
Smiggle - Grab a card instore and everytime you spend $10 you get a stamp. When your card is full is mystery free gift time!
Sony My Sony - You need to have purchased a Sony product to join this (anytime since 1995)
Shoobiz - Unfortunately Shoobiz shut down their loyalty program but have replaced it with Fashion Addicts email newsletter. Time will tell if its worth signing up for
Steve Madden - You have to head instore to sign up, but once you do you receive a card to flash and save 10% off all full priced stock all the time!
