eBay Fashion Vault – the newest Sample Sale Site

We’re all familiar with the sample sale sites that are popping up these days – and big fans of the discounts on offer. Whilst we have some super fabulous Australian Sites (think Estile, OzSale, Brands Exclusive and Coco Lee just to name a few) the US Sites can be great for nabbing US designer goodies on the cheap.

But the difficulty with a lot of the American sample sale sites is that they make it very difficult to let you buy – Gilt Groupe won’t accept internationally issued credit cards and Haute Look will, but won’t let you pay via PayPal if you PayPal account is located outside of the US.

Now eBay has created the eBay Fashion Vault, which is their new sample sale arm. eBay says it’s a collaboration between the designers, their authorised sellers and eBay.

Basically, once a designer decides to hold a sale, only the sellers the designer have authorised to sell their products are able to participate. This is great from a buyers perspective as it means no i-wonder-if-it’s-authentic questions.

Shipping is free in the US and varies by listing for international shipping. Sales last between 48 to 73 hours, and Escada and Paper Denim and Cloth are coming up next. The discount amount will vary by seller.
