Trend Alert: Alice in Wonderland
Come March 5, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland will be hitting our screens . I had two thoughts when first seeing the trailer and they were:
No 1. Johnny Depp, I adore you.
No. 2 The fashion and beauty inspired by Alice is going to be awesome.
Already Alice inspired products are hitting are stores with OPI dedicating four polish colours, two sparkles and two reds, with my favourite being off with her head! Online we had trouble tracking these down in Australia, but you can pick them up at the following online stores:
Beverly Beaute (UK Site, will ship to Aus)
eBay Australia – lots of international sellers with the Alice OPIs
Being a Disney movie, it’s not surprising Disney couture have also released an Alice range. Celebs such as Nicole Ritchie and Leighton Meister have already been spotted sporting the blue Alice in Wonderland wrap bracelet, available from Miijo for AU$179 and we also love Alice’s gold suits bracelet from 80s Purple
Urban Decay’s Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows is being raved about by beauty lovers. Tucked inside a hidden drawer are 16 best-selling Eyeshadows, given topsy-turvy names like White Rabbit, Jabberwocky, and Oraculum. Alongside them lie travel sizes of Eyeshadow Primer Potion and two 24/7 Eye Pencils. From smoky neutral eyes to flashes of hallucinogenic green and purple, the looks you can create are as endless as the rabbit hole itself. It’s sold out on the Urban Decay website, but Sephora still has some in stock, and it retails for US$52
UK Brand Paul and Joe have also released an Alice inspired range, and while it’s not as closely based on Tim Burtons gothic inspired world, it’s still gorgeous. Each limited edition set comes in it’s own tin, containing Blotting Paper with mirror for shine control and refills and it’s own tin. If you head over to Sassi Sam’s Girlie Gossip blog you can check out lots of images of the new range, which will available on ASOS from February 25th.
It’s not just dedicated collections that will be hitting our shores either. Expect chain stores to be filled with floaty chiffon dresses, Alice blue and Red Queen red to dominate, structed mad hatter style jackets, fob watches, victorian style blouses and more.
