Portable custom photo albums with Memolio

When you have an adorable niece, any mention of the words ‘child‘, ‘gorgeous‘ ‘today‘ (okay, really anything) makes you want to show off photos of  them. So the portability of photos becomes important. On your iPhone works OK, as long as its not flat or I’m not trying to show it to my Nan (who, for all her wonderful points, thankfully has no desire to have a facebook profile yet or learn how to use an iPhone.), But really, I just want a way to carry around select photos that I can whip out and share with the technologically inclined, and the non technologically inclinded equally.

Well, enter Memolio for the coolest way to show of your photos and keep them portable.

Memolio lets you create little memolios, which are…I don’t know what we would call them, flip books?! Whatever they are, they’re super cute and portable. Size-wise,a memolio is slightly bigger than the standard size credit card (103mm x 62mm x 5mm for those who are itching for a ruler).

To create your own Memolio, all you need is 24 photos from your computer. The really good news is that they don’t need to be fully high-res because of the small size of the memolio – I was able to use photos I’d grabbed of Facebook, and the uploading is really straightforward (and called the very cool ‘memoliator‘ which made me feel like I was creating some kind of terminator style thing, but perhaps that’s also my geek side coming out to play).

One you’ve finished uploading,  you can drag and drop your photos to move them around and change the order in which they are displayed. You can also customise the colours of your memolio, give  it a title and some details and check out how its going to look, before ordering it.
