Cheap Thrills – Basic Long Cardi

Cheap Thrills Basic Long CardiThe setting: Its this time last year. I’m randomly shopping one day (I know, we’re all gasping with shock here) not needing something urgently, just having a browse. I decide to check out Supre, not a store I normally like. Its too loud, too crowded and makes me feel old (possibly because I am older than thirteen). But Shopping Commandment #2 states: Thou shalt occasionally step outside thy shopping boundaries. Here lies the path to random finds and not becoming stuck in a rut.

So somehow within the bad lighting I spotted this cardi to the left. Not too thick for Autumn. Thin enough to be worn over longsleeved tops in Winter without adding bulk. Can be worn with or without a belt (I generally wear mine without).  And only $35AUD. I picked one up in a dark grey, the theory being grey goes with pretty much everything.

Now you know how sometimes you pick up a cheap thrill, not expecting much from it and a few months later you look back and realise its become an integral part of your wardrobe? And when, even better, you realise said cheap thrill is standing the test of time and wear by holding its shape really well?

Well that happened to me with this cardi. Somewhere along the line, I started to think it would be worth investing in another one (black this time, possibly also a brighter colour).

Unsurprisingly, by the time I realised this, they were gone. kaput. Desperately, I searched sale rack after sale rack everytime I spotted a Supre, but never was one to be had.

So imagine my happiness as I walked past Supre on Sunday to find THE cardi. And no fancy schmancy recut changes, just the same basic cardi that I’ve come to love over the last year. And still at $35AUD! Color options are: Black, Grey, White, Yellow, Maroon, Royal Blue, Pale Purple. Get your hands on it online here.
