Kooki Sushi – Chocolate Sushi

Kooki Sushi Chocolate SushiFor all you traumatised chocoholics trying to resist the lure of chocolate due to the impending arrival of summer (yes, Kate, I mean you!) read on without fear because unfortunately these can’t be shipped to Australia

Even though they don’t ship internationally, I just had to post about them – they look like sushi but they are really chocolate!

Even the chopsticks are made from chocolate! These gorgeous choc-sushi pieces are by Kooki Sushi and I just think they look fantastic and would make a great gift, if only I could get my hands on them.

Now these actually got me thinking, could I use my US Address and get it sent onto Australia? After all, my parcels always (*touch wood*) arrive within 3 days of sending. The AQIS website does say you can import candy for private use (such a funny term for me eating it) and I did confirm this with them ‘Sending chocolate and other confectionery by mail to Australia is permitted by Quarantine, subject to inspection on arrival’ (I would also like to comment that their email service is great – very prompt, complete answers!).

Now for getting it from my US address to Australia, it’s not on the DHL List of prohibited items, however they do say they might not accept perishable items for shipment unless they are professionally packed. I am assuming that means as long as its sealed, its fine. I’d probably be more likely to test this who theory out on a box of junior mints that beautiful but expensive sushi chocolate though! Let me know if you’ve ordered chocolate from overseas and what condition it arrived in! Was it worth it and do you have any sites you recommend?
