I NEED a Chloe Bay Bag

I’ve been playing ‘when I win Tattslotto…’ to cheer me up in my bad customer service induced shopping lethargy and No. 1 on my list is the black Chloe Bay Shoulder bag.

I love this bag – its structured but still sexy, classic but edgy – and more importantly I can wear it over my shoulder!

See my one and only foray into designer handbags (through lack of funds not lack of desire) is my beautiful lilac Luella Gisele Tote. I adore it….but damn thats one heavy bag and it will not go over my shoulder. I’d love to see someone try to mug me on the street one day with it. A mugger will either be stopped in his/her tracks by the unexpected weight of the bag, or if I’m actually paying attention and I think on my feet, I rekon I could easily knockout my potential assailant with one swing of my bag.

Of course, me being me, I would then probably stand over said mugger and yell at them for potentially harming one of my most treasured possessions.

Anyway, I did come across a fantastic resource for ANYONE considering buying a designer bag online. Here you can find a listing of the authorised online retailers for all the major designer brands. This guide has been put together by a regular Purse Forum member (aka totally knowledgeable handbag addict) and if you are considering buying a bag online, the only way you can 100% ensure authenticity is by buying from an authorised retailer. Yes you can score bargains on eBay or elsewhere but just because it comes with a receipt doesn’t mean its authentic. Trust me, I’ve shopped China and I’ve seen the quality of fakes. It was scary. And not because they were fugly and misspelt.

Now the Chloe Bay is probably a pipe dream because, yes I probably could save and buy it, but I think my husband would then leave me. Unless I do the good ol’ red pen trick (purchase, pull red pen from bag before you arrive home and make your own discount of about 90% off, then proceed to show hubby your new ‘bargain’).

However due to an excellent education in shopping and designer bag lemmings by me, I don’t think he will fall for that one….
